Perhaps one of the more unlikely remixes in Adrian Sherwood’s discography, his association with Atmosfear’s Andy Sojka actually went back to late 70s Harlesden, when Adrian was working for reggae importers the Palmer brothers, and Andy opened dance music specialist shop All Ears over the road. A key figure in the UK jazz-funk scene, Sojka scored a huge club hit with Atmosfear’s “Dancing In Outer Space”, founded the Elite label, and discovered a number of acts including Level 42. Hugely respected by fellow DJs and producers, his music was championed by Larry Levan at the Paradise Garage in New York, and in later years he worked with Masters At Work, Francois Kervorkian and Dimitri From Paris. He sadly passed away at the age of 49 in 2000, but his work lives on with worldwide lovers of rare groove.
