Alongside African Head Charge, Dub Syndicate have been the most prominent and longest-running outfit in the On-U family, up until the tragic and senseless murder last year of drummer and founder member Lincoln "Style" Scott. Starting out his career as part of crack Jamaican session group the Roots Radics, Style Scott met Adrian Sherwood in the early 80s whilst touring with Prince Far I, and gradually came to play on more and more On-U sessions. After contributing to the classic debut Dub Syndicate album The Pounding System (Ambience In Dub), a cassette on the ROIR label, and a collaborative album with melodica player Dr.Pablo, Style Scott really came into his own on the album from which this track is taken. With bass, keyboards and composition by Public Image Limited's Jah Wobble, Scott's drum hits reverberate through a typically FX-soaked mix by Sherwood.
